Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Today was a day I needed a quote like this to come across my desk and remind me that I am enough. I quickly get caught up in the doing of things and because my list never ends, I find myself in a state of lack. Yes, there are times when I make blunders- sometimes it is a lack of communication that puts me in a place of feeling incompetent. However, when I remind myself that WHO I am makes a difference, then I realize that being my best every day is all that I am called to do.
Today is a new day. Who will I be today? Will I be the person who forgives easily, who rejoices in another person’s success, who reaches out to someone in pain to make a difference? Or will I be buried under my unending list of to do’s, unaware of the real world in need of my love?
Everything is a choice. Yes, we have work to do, and yes we need to earn an income, but real living means to let go of the past and trust the future will unfold in time. REAL LIVING means to make a conscious choice to be here in the present, aware of Divine Presence, and to show up in the world with our love and willingness to be authentic.
Today is a new day. Who will you BE today?
